The Security Manager oversees all aspects of venue safety, guest experience related to security, and staff accountability at Cobra Arcade Phoenix. This role ensures a secure and welcoming environment while balancing high-volume nightlife operations. The Security Manager leads, trains, and supervises the security team, coordinates with management and law enforcement, and enforces house policies to protect both guests and staff.
Leadership & Supervision
-Recruit, train, and schedule security staff to align with business needs (5–6 guards on weekdays, 9–11 guards on weekends).
-Supervise and support the security team during peak hours (10pm–2am).
-Maintain communication with management and floor staff to ensure seamless guest flow.
-Conduct daily briefings with guards before shifts to review policies, expectations, and event-specific concerns.
Guest & Staff Safety
-Oversee ID verification, guest screening, and compliance with age restrictions.
-Monitor crowd levels and proactively prevent unsafe conditions.
-Manage conflict de-escalation and intervene in incidents when necessary.
-Work with off-duty police officers onsite (Wed–Sun) to coordinate security coverage and response.
Operations & Compliance
-Develop and enforce security protocols in line with Cobra’s security manual.
-Conduct incident reporting, ensuring all reports are complete, accurate, and properly filed.
-Ensure compliance with Arizona liquor laws and City of Phoenix regulations.
-Oversee camera/DVR systems in coordination with Telnet Systems for incident review.
Training & Development
-Provide ongoing training to security staff on de-escalation, crowd management, and emergency procedures.
-Conduct periodic policy refreshers and ensure guards meet professional standards.
-Ensure door staff complete background checks prior to employment.
Collaboration
-Work closely with bar managers to anticipate crowd surges, special events, or promotions.
-Liaise with ownership, operations, and police detail to ensure consistency in safety policies.
-Serve as point of contact for any guest complaints involving security.
Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience in nightlife, bar, or event security.
Proven ability to manage high-volume environments with 400+ guests.
Strong knowledge of Arizona liquor and nightlife regulations.
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain within 60 days).
Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Professional demeanor and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Must be able to stand for long periods and handle physically demanding situations.
Evening and late-night availability required, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to work in a loud, fast-paced environment with fluctuating crowd sizes.
